Swoon Wants to Build a Playable House in New Orleans

Brooklyn-based street artist and art-raft floater Swoon is working on a permanent, public house-sculpture in NoLA’s Bywater neighborhood. Built from the salvaged ruins of a Creole Cottage, it will be rigged to function like a giant musical instrument.

So, it’s kind of like David Byrne’s Playing the Building but a different sort of magical. Musicians and sound artists will outfit the floors and walls of Dithyrambalina with playable parts, but you have to donate to their Kickstarter first (and get 100-year-old wallpaper-covered thank you cards, mix tapes and original art in return).
